You can use this sample as a template to quickly add a command to the menu and develop a command based on a keyboard macro. In this sample you will create a custom command that references your source table and generates a chart. This is called 'Get Data' command. To run this sample: Install the extension to any open Office. Go to Insert->Customize->Add-ins In the Add-ins dialog, find the Custom Commands in the left pane. If you find the sample in there, it's already been added. Go to the Commands Tab and find the "Get Data" Command. Make the "Keyboard Macro" value equal to the string in the code. If you do not use a keyboard macro, leave the value as "". Once you have done the above, you should see the "Get Data" command in the Menu. @zeddyberblin Hi there, I recently used your "Get Data" command in Chedit to generate a chart from the first record in a data set. The command worked fine. I am trying to apply this command to a range of data records as opposed to the first record in the data set. If I change my command to something similar to the below, it generates an error message stating "the cell selected is outside the range of the table". The primary reason for using "Get Data" as a command is to allow the user to define what data fields they want to have on the chart. The user can select the fields they want to be displayed on the chart from the pull down list. Therefore I am unable to hard code the field selections in the command itself. Is there any way that I can hard code the values of the fields to be displayed on the chart into the command instead of the field selections? Yes, you can hard-code that into the Macro. You do it by using KeyBoardMacro. But we are talking about getting data from a Data What's New In Chedit?
